Blog: Why Be an Independent?

Statement

People sometimes ask me why I ran as an independent. I usually answer that I have differences with both major parties, so the only honest posture for me is as an independent. A better answer would be "I'm a conservative". When I looked at the record for both political parties, it appeared that neither was conservative in managing the fiscal condition of the federal government. The current financial mess was created by both major parties, Democrat and Republican. Aside from election year rhetoric, neither major party can claim a record of fiscal responsibility.

We can't live with more promises - we need a true conservative.
